Legal form

The legal form decides who is liable for a company's obligations, what it has to file, and what the register publishes about it. In Lithuania the most common is the private limited company (uždaroji akcinė bendrovė, UAB), where the owners' liability is limited to what they put in.

The most common form.; AB — akcinė bendrovė, public limited company; MB — mažoji bendrija, small partnership; IĮ — individuali įmonė, individual enterprise; VšĮ — viešoji įstaiga, public institution; TŪB — tikroji ūkinė bendrija, general partnership; KŪB — komanditinė ūkinė bendrija, limited partnership; asociacija — asociacija, association.
